It would be temping to donate a small amount of money to enable a port to the JDX 301.
Lets see, I would donate 5 euro's, Who's joins? :-)
Maybe mp4nation gives one for free, or with a discount if someone proposed to enable MSX emulation on the JDX (and expand their market with an extra emulated platform)?

ivke2006, did you read my post about the GP2X F-200?:

Long time ago (before being a translator/admin here) I donated some money to the MRC. Mmmmm... I usually use openMSX... tempting
syntax_error: You are probably right, the new GP2X F-200 (take a look at the frontpage of Play-Asia) seems better than the JXD 301. You can change the battery on the GP2X whereas on the JXD 301 it is soldered (like in iPods).
There's comming a wide range of those gadgets based on Linux. The future of emulation!

Yep, I read your post,
it's indeed very nice hardware but it cost almost twice as much and it's more bulky and still not available.
If MSX2 emulation (with msx-music and scc support) is possible on a nice, slim and cheap device like the 301 ( costs are below 90 euro's!) then I would buy this instead the GP2x F100 or F200.
Edit: I see that the price of the gp2x-F200 is less (@ play-asia) then I thought, but its still more expensive (For people who don't find it obvious, yes I'm Dutch. )

The great thing about the GP2X is that it's an open system: you can get all the info you need to program it and you can upload your own executables to the device. Unless this JXD 301 is also designed to be open, it could be quite a challenge to make even Hello World run on it.

regardless of the debate wether gp2x is better than jxd or not, it's always good to have more options for MSX emulation. Until now, the GP2x F200 is vapourware (available in oct.. now.. they have a few days left, I guess), and the JXD is available.
Like ivke, I'd be willing to donate for development
thanks to the low $-EU rate, the prices of electronics are going down fast.. yay |

Of course I'd like to point out that the GP2x F200 is but the successor to the GP2x F100, which has been out for a while now. They're (supposed to be) software compatible which gives you a small collection of already available MSX emulators to use. (aside from a respectable list of other emulators , games and apps)

Heck, some of them have even been mentioned on the frontpage right here a few times.
Of course they´re far from perfect but when it comes to emulation the GP2x is leaps ahead from the JXD in terms of development. |

I do agree. For what I've been reading in forums the GP2x is, by now, the best choice. |

If you visit Play-Asia, you can read "In stock, usually ships within 24hrs". |

it's not the question which one is better!!!!
it's the question of getting an alternative choice. geez, consider alternatives, instead of clinging to one option!
in this thread there's nothing but blabla on "the gp2x is better" .. who cares? I was asking if there's something available for the JXD, I *know* what's available for gp2x.
