| Um, what do you mean? You can't create a 32MB hdd image? (I think you can, at least in openMSX, but I bet also in blueMSX....)
|
No, BlueMSX only allows you to create empty HDD images having a specific size. I don't remember each one of them, but I know that there is 20Mb and then 50Mb. No 32Mb HDD size available ...
@NYYRIKKI : Thanks for the tip, I will try it ASAP and let everyone know if it works. It could mean a really simpler way of initializing the Sunrise CF interface. |

I haven't followed the entire discussion but regarding HDD sizes in blueMSX you can set it yourself. Just change the value in the dropdown to '32 MB' I'm not sure how sensitive the parser is but if you type it like the other values, just change the numbers its fine.

Ok, here is what I did :
- using the Dubaron Diskimage tool, I made a .RAW copy of my 32Mb CF card
- renamed the file to .DSK
- using BlueMSX, I mounted this disk image with the Sunrise IDE emulation
- On boot, Sunrise IDE interface recognized this image as a "BlueMSX" HDD
- Got the B> prompt under MSX-DOS
And there I got stuck, because I could not access to the HDD
I tried a FORMAT A: command, but MSX-DOS said it "could not format this drive".
Also tried a simple DIR A: command, but it did not work ( "Not ready reading drive A:" ) ...
I might add that I have the same problem if I choose a brand new 32Mb image from BlueMSX (yes, I tried to change the size in the menu and it works)
[EDIT] : OK, I saw in another post that I have to use the IDEDISK.COM tool to do it, is that right ?

Yes to format any drive (HDD, CF, ZIP, FDD) conected to an Sunrise IDE you have to use IDEFDISK.COM

It works
Using this procedure, one can initialize and use the Sunrise CF interface without the need for a FDD !!

For sharing files smaller than 100Mb, I think that YouSendIt is still free ...
