I believe that only real ROM cartridges would run direct from the cartridge port. Some exception would be test cartridges like the Mega FlashROM, EPROM or (for some time) a real Snatcher SCC cartridge ...

There is a selection of key presses that go with EXECROM, it allows you to specify the country code for the MSX.

EXECROM /I selects International, although my MSX is not set up at the moment, I think it will force it to English.

The slider switch on top of the TurboR stops the interenal software, we where on different thought ideas there!

Don't know exactly why are you asking that SlUtman. You saw my post at Brazilian MSXBR-L saying that for this Megaram to work on TR's, you need to disable the R800.
On my Panasonic FSA1-F, it works without any kind of special processes.

Yes, there is comments about some MegaRAM cartridges only working on normal Z80 mode. Something to do with the memory and processor used at the time. "Other problems were rumored to be similar to the demos and programs that could need a little extra memory to work property (needing to press something at boot), similar to Memory Mapper versions of some software. The FS-A1GT seems to have enough memory to not need to use short cuts, otherwise some software could hang on standard (non expandable) Panasonic PERSONAL COMPUTER FS-A1ST."

Well. I cannot assure that, that happens on all trs. Mine is an FS-A1ST upgraded to 512k. Bought it from rklok 2 years ago.

Probably, it only affect some software that would use the Memory Mapper (256 KB RAM) or a MSX TurboR only 'megarom' ... Not sure about what happening in DOS.

This could be co-related to the memory speed, since into some modes the contend of ROM is copied to the RAM and the DRAM (R800) mode is actived. Some older MegaRAM chips were reported to not supporting 7 Mhz machines (with or without Memory Mapper expansions) at all ...

Anyway, most software would be fine on Z80 mode!

MSX2/TurboR megarom software.

Some games (that "weren't ported to MegaRAM" seems to change the CPU to R800 mode, those titles were rumored to use the TurboR CPU for extra processing speed or maybe faster A.I.!

Yep, everything I tested worked on Z80 mode.
But, I have bought another megaram (256k), not from Carchano, which function perfectly on my FS-A1ST, in R800 or Z80 mode...

Not sure why that happens...
