| Bug in bluemsx 2.7.1 ?

It seems that I cannot record a video as CAP on my bluemsx and make it play on bluemsx installed on a differnt PC. It appears as a still frame and there is no way to play it.
Is it normal that the two bluemsx cannot exchange CAP files?
Both are version 2.7.1

Yes that may be normal. The cap file contain a save state that is the initial state of the emulation when the capture begins. The first part of the state contain the system state when the capture begins, including th e location of the roms and the disks or roms you used when doing the recording. If the paths are different the state is not valid and the capture will not work as you expect.

In order to make it work you need to have the same paths and names to all system roms and configs as well as the game roms.

is it possible to add a "portable" cap format to blumsx,
maybe including in it all the needed infos for the video ?

yeah!, just like an extra option! called like "include all rom/disk data for portability"  |

We've been thinking about that as well and we may add something to solve the issue in the future. Either include rom data or ask the user for new paths or something like that.
