I'd like to thank everybody for the support... I finally got the game on tape, and with a little bit of spare time I have even added a loading screen:

( It's essentially the cartridge image photoshopped a little bit and converted for the MSX1 standards. It's not an exeptional image-to-screen convertion, but it was a quick work and took me only a couple of minutes ) |

Nice loading screen, Cesco!
Can you share with us the files? I'd also like to load Caos Begins from tape!

I have used Jannone converter... I have just converted the image with Photoshop first, because I don't like all that dithering on the image

Sure, everyone can download the Loading screen from this link:
test.cesco.it/cover.sc2
Do I have your permission to post the link to the CAS file here? |

Hi, Cesco. Sure you have my permission. The ROM file is already available for free download, and maybe with the CAS file more people will be able to play Caos on a real MSX. More people playing Caos, more people wanting the cartridge version.
About the loading screen, some colors seem to be changed in yours, mainly the mountain. However, I also like more yours: less dithering, more MSX style. |

These loading screens really remember me the "old days" with tapes. The only strange thing is the "ROM" label in a cassette version. If any of you, Artrag or Cesco, wants the image withouth the "ROM" label, I can send it to you.

Tonight I have tried to load the game on my Philips VG8020 but it's not working
That's strange, before this afternoon while I was working I have tried a lot of times to load it with OpenMSX, and I never had problems
Instead on the VG8020 when the game is fully loaded the computer freezes and the screen gets blank. After pressing the reset button the game seems to work... I can see the intro screen, I can press the space button and start the game... the on-screen graphics is perfect but when I try to move the main character it's like as if something weird is happening: suddently the hero of the game seems to be stuck in front of an invisible wall, and if I try to jump the character seems to land on an invisible platform, suspended on the air...
I don't know how to explain it... it seems like I can see a particular stage on the screen, but when the computer controls my movements to see if the hero is colliding with something, it's like if it's looking at a completely different stage located in memory istead. |

when you reboot the RAM at 8000h is corrupted
so the game is there only with its first half,
the second half could have been erased or damnaged

The CAS file is also working on BlueMSX. Tomorrow I'll have to do further experiments with the other VG8020 I have at home...
