Hi,
in the C64 emulator CCS64 there is the following option: if you go into pause mode, you can skip single frame by frame by pressing a key which makes it great to calculate how long an animation unit holds and also get each frame unit without fear to miss one.
I wonder if a similar option exists in any MSX emulator or if anyone has experience with doing .gifs from MSX screenshots?
Currently I use NLMSX. I took screenshots of a wanted animation by typing the screenshot key quickly as long as the animation animates 8), but this isn't very trustful for obvious reasons as missing frames and calculating the frame time unit by guessing.
thanks for any answer.

I think it should be quite easy for creators of emulators to implement a function to create such a movie.

It's funny to see most MSX emulators lack a lot of the features many other emulators have. I think it's because MSX emulation is quite hard to get right and most of the efforts are going into the quality of the emulations in stead of the quality of the user interface.

CCS64 is the only emulator on any platform which has this feature afaik. |

Visualboy Advance also has it, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it on others too.

openMSX has a TCL script which can make a screenshot automatically every x frames. You do need enough disk space for the screenshots and the emulation speed isn't real-time anymore.

You can also make a screenshot every second e.g., the possibilities are quite endless with TCL
Check out the multi_screenshot script! It comes with openMSX since February 2004... |
