I have an MSX and I have the games, I have the roms of the games I own on my computer and the msx emulator is on the phone, its just a matter of placing my roms on the phone in a way the emulator recognizes. The thing about extracting the system rom files from my machine is something I wouldnt have a clue how to do, I mean Im having enough problems getting this right and im sure its probably simple.

I ve got the emulator to recognize roms but in the section where you choose the machine type I cant change it from none is there a simple solution.

I don't know what emulators you use in your phone, but MSX needs system ROMs.
Most console systems don't need roms, like NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Master System, Genesis...
MSX is a personal computer system, it is more complicated than a simple console.

If it's a game for the MSX1, you also must install "msx.rom" to make it work. Note that the system ROMs are placed under "rom" directory in the device and game ROMs under "data" directory. The emulator won't let you choose a machine type if it cannot find the proper system ROMs. If you do not have the required system ROMs, have a look around the web, they are easy enough to find.
BTW, you don't have to use the PC tools to install the ROM files if you have an MMC card on your phone (like the 3650) and you have installed the emulator on the MMC card. You can easily just copy all the necessary files to the right directories ("x:systemappsfmsx
om" for system ROMs and "x:systemappsfmsxdata" for game ROMs and DSK files) using MS Windows and an MMC card reader connected to your PC.
Also, you don't have to gzip any of the files if you don't want to. All system ROMs, game ROMs and DSK files also work in uncompressed format. It's just a feature so that you can save some space on your phone...
I'm sorry if you find all this too difficult but I don't know how to make it much easier without including the necessary files with the emulator. If you have any suggestions, they are welcome! Maybe if I made the PC tool a separate, single Windows application with a nice GUI instead of the separate command line tools?

Thanks! I'm sorry to hear that your favourite game doesn't work. Does it work with fMSX/Unix? |

I think it's because the site you linked to is full of warez.
The game is so-called 'Matraware' isn't it? It should be for download here: http://www.matranet.net/
But I see the Matraware section is 'Coming Soon' :/
Anyway, google is your friend. |

I'm sorry I cannot start making and/or distributing games for the emulator, but I can give you an example of the PKG file needed for creating a SIS packet for Elite:
;-------- start of Elite.PKG file
#{"MSX Elite"},(0x101FBD1F),0,92,0,TYPE=SP
(0x101F6F88),0,0,0,{"Series60ProductID"}
"C:msxmsx.rom.gz" -"!:systemappsfmsx
ommsx.rom.gz"
"C:msxElite.dsk.gz" -"!:systemappsfmsxdataElite.dsk.gz"
(0x101FBD1F),0,92,0,{"fMSX/S60"}
;-------- end of Elite.PKG file
Save the above file as "C:msxElite.PKG". Now, if you make sure you have both of the source files (c:msxmsx.rom.gz and c:msxelite.dsk.gz) you should be able to make Elite.SIS by saying "makesis elite.pkg" in the command prompt.

It seems to be a bug in my MSX-DOS 2 support, I'll try to fix it for the next release.
The game works if you don't have MSX-DOS 2 ROM installed, i.e. put only MSX1 disk ROM but no MSX-DOS 2 and then it works.
[edit]
Found the bug, the ROM mapper for MSX-DOS2 was not set up correctly. It is now fixed for the next release.

Great you figured it out! Btw I tried the game removing msx-dos2 and now finally works but... is there a way to speed up loading time? It really takes ages.. I wonder if you can implement some option to speed up loading like many emulators for pc do. Something like make going on a key press the emulator 500% faster than the real speed of the machine.
