If people love it when a new game comes together then you know the MSXdev'07 contest is on the jazz. Crazy MSX Frenchies is the third finished game for this year's contest already. This 16kB ROM, made by Jipe, is a remake of the well known pairs game, featuring some "crazy" MSX'ers as tiles.
Today, Ro has released a binary version of the SCC tracker SCC Musixx that is now available from our MSX downloads corner.
Recently, a new version of ODO, a ROM loader utility, was released. As of now, it is available for download from our freeware MSX downloads section.
HRA has released a new patch for the One Chip MSX VHDL code, changing the following:
- Added a turboR (S1990) compatible 16-bit counter on port E6h/E7h
- Improved SCC+ compatibility, activated with DIP Switch 3
- Added SD/MMC activity LED
- Added DIP-Switch state leds for switch 3 and 6
- Improved wave soun
With MSXdev '07 on the way the French MSX community portal PassionMSX have published a review of the 19 MSX games released in last year's edition of MSXdev.
Konamito.com restyled
The Spanish MSX portal Konamito.com has recovered from a 10 day downtime (due to a server-attack) and was re-launched with a fresh look in a new CMS. Unfortunately not all old data could be recovered, forcing returning members to re-register an account.
PSG.MOE #03: Zero
On May 16th, the 3rd round of the PSG.MOE competition was announced. PSG.MOE is a competition in which different chiptune composers try to release a PSG re-arrangement of a song that is not easily re-arranged on a 3 or 4 channel PSG alone.
Ngamer talks MSX
The UK gaming magazine Ngamer have reported about MSX in the December 2006 edition of their magazine.
The Maze of Galious fangame La Mulana has, in the past, received quite a bit of attention from MSX fans. Recently, a video walkthrough of the game appeared on YouTube.
