A bit late but here is the serial number of my ST:

666... the Turbo-R from hell!
Most opcodes supposedly new are the undocumented z80 opcodes. So best code on like you did with the z80. Which is probably why the new r800 style mnemonics haven't caught on.
All the gain is in the non-specific opcodes. The only useful r800 only opcodes are mulub/muluw and I doubt they would give you a speed-up of 6-8 times.
If you take a look at the different z80 timings and r800 i can say that the r800 ones seem that they need less t states which would mean that it is an improvement after the z80 right?

True. But the z80 code on R800 is not 6-8 times faster. But still 2 a 3 times faster as far as I could see on my projects. 2 times faster is still a good improvement though.
wow... i've 1 ST buyed in June... will check for sn and post it here...

Huey> I suspect you're running a ROM then. With 3 cycles delay per memory read, you'd be limited to about 2/3 times. Now try it from internal memory.
Not really, I got a R800 book, there are a LOT R800 opcodes, not only mulub/muluw.
Just 57 turboR? That is pretty few I must say.
Are U sure? As you can see here there are only 3 opcodes new for R800
I bought a 100% turboR technical book, but at this time I cannot compare that table, I'm moving in a few days and have no time at all.
