Hi all.

After many many years of using emulators i have finally decided to start using real MSX machines again. I already bought MSX2 computer, but for nostalgic reasons i really like to have the same combination i had when i was child. Spectravideo SVI-728 with scandinavian keyboard and also tape recorder SVI-767 for it. I have lot of good memories with that machine Smile

If anyone has fully working and otherwise good conditioned SVI-728 and/or SVI-767 to sell, please contact me. Even better if they are boxed but that's not necessary. It would just be great to own that combination again Big smile

Hi petronio.

Thanks, that would be nice Smile Picture wasn't very precise, so it didn't really tell me nothing about condition, how does it look and does it have scandinavian keyboard.

hi there
I already emailed the guy asking for price of 728 and tape.. no response yet
anyway, the computer has no cables, and it looks like yellow while should look more white. so condition maybe is not perfect
keyb I suppose is in spanish

cant provide more info until the guy answers the email...

It looks yellowed indeed, but it's really hard to see for sure from that picture. But no cables is problem to me. Even though i already have working MSX computer and i want SVI-728 only for nostalgic reasons, i still want it to be as complete and fully working like the one i once had.

the only real problem is the PSU. for the video you can use regular composite + audio cables and the tape seems to have the cable. I have the same model and the powersupply died after several years.

I used a sega segesis psu to power the 728 and it worked. it is 10 volts + 2 amps connected to the 1 and 3 pin, and GND connected to 2 and 4. believe me it worked xDD

Well, i found SVI-728 that was not very expensive and seemed to be working fine. It was clearly used a lot, but it wasn't very bad looking at all. Have to say, it was very emotional moment for me to play Goonies with SVI-728 again, over 20 years have passed since the last time Big smile

BUT.... of course it was too good to be true, problems started soon to appear Sad After Goonies i played Operation Wolf for maybe 30 minutes when suddenly screen started whirling and get out of focus. Then MSX shutted down for few seconds. Power came back but screen was messing around and very soon it shut down again. I unplugged it for a while and tried it later on same evening, it powered on and was working fine. It was time to play with my MSX again. About ten minutes later 728 shutted down and never powered on again. I measured PSU first, it was fine. But from cartridge port there was no 5V readings at all. -12V & +12V did give good readings... Maybe something i could fix, but i think i have to start another thread about it.

Anyway, it looks that i am still trying to find working SVI-728. And for the record, i am not trying to get it cheap but for a reasonable price. I just need fully working and reliable SVI-728 that has scandinavian keyboard. And i am prepared to pay good if somebody is willing to sell me a machine that is in like new condition and still has many years to come. I hope that also my son could play with it when he is few years older Big smile
