@meits: can you validate the contents of directory /sdcard/Android/data/org.openmsx.android.openmsx/files
You should see one file called libsdl-DownloadFinished-0.flag and a sub-directory called openmsx_system
Please let me know if you see anything different.
Furthermore, if you only see the file libsdl-DownloadFinished-0.flag , then please remove that file and start openMSX again. During startup you should see some messages at the top of the SDL splash screen that he is "downloading" many files. At that moment, LIBSDL should be unzipping all data files into the openmsx_system directory in /sdcard/Android/data/org.openmsx.android.openmsx/files
Removing the file libsdl-DownloadFinished-0.flag fixed it for me
I have been using it and played some Nemesis1.. I wish we could something about the controls since they seem to be not really functional for shooters. Also: the reverse bar seems to be fully functional which probably isn't needed on android.
Am I doing something wrong here? Downloaded the zip but there's no apk inside so how do I install?
Alex: I got the dir openmsx_system and the two files .nomedia and libsdl-DownloadFinished-0.flag.
If I remove libsdl-DownloadFinished-0.flag like Manuel did, openMSX starts scanning devices, but after that it just crashes again and returns me to my app menu...

First of all, thank you so much for porting this wonderful emulator to android, it's like a dream come true.
Is there any way to use openMSX console? Also STOP, SELECT and SHIFT keys doesn't work when mapped to on-screen or physical keys. If there is solution how to use those, then this emulator would be absolutely perfect for my needs. But very impressive work so far
teroper: can you describe in more detail what you tried?
Manuel: of course.
I tried several different combinations but here is one example what i did:
-button 4 to F10 (console) - causing emulator to crash when pressed
-button 5 to F7 (SELECT) - did nothing
-button 6 to F8 (STOP) - did nothing
Also remapped same functions to physical keys with same results. L-SHIFT or R-SHIFT keys also didn't work with neither of input methods.
Mapping F9 (speed toggle) and L-ALT (GRAPH) to on-screen or physical keys works fine.
Btw, using virtual keyboard SELECT, STOP and SHIFT keys works as they should, but it is little inconvenient to use.
My phone is Sony Ericsson xperia pro with qwerty keyboard, running android version 2.3.4
Hope this helps
