Here a video of a Valis II SCC version. The original music data is available too. I'm not sure if this music come from Japan. I would say that this arrangement come from a Japanese user because I found it in a niconico video sharing website as well. In that case nice that TT arrives to Japan.

What do you mean? SCC usage is chiptuning by definition. Big smile

@JohnHassink,
maybe the category I mean is "western".
Western means agressive rock metal.
The tune is going that direction. With drums and e-guitar.

@ hit9918
I could give you loads of examples of "agressive rock metal" on both PSG and FM by Japanese composers, which would probably make it "Eastern". So I still don't really see your point.

@JohnHassink,
what is my point. how to make the point "westerner makes more western music" Wink

I found it: melody is one thing, the other thing is the chip hack.
western is more chip hack.

An example, goblins CPC

need to listen a minute to get all the nonstandard parts.

You mean things like fast arpeggios and PSG envelope generator LFOs that get into the audio range Smile.

In T4N3’s Valis II tune, I especially like the effect at 0:23. I had a listen to the original on @JohnHassink’s YouTube channel… I like the SCC version better! :)
