Happy to hear that there is some support for this. : ) I'm sure something simple that MSX fans can sign that can easily be found on the net or have a link to would be the easiest way to do this.

My original thought was how cool it would be to have a MSX card that is essentially signed with actual signatures and comments, but now that I think on it more, that would be terribly hard to organize I think and then there's the language/handwriting barrier as well.

I'm starting to think that the best way to do this is to come up with a website or a section on an exsiting MSX website, maybe even here if Jorito is fine with that that is essentially allows for an interactive Guestbook style approach where someone can easily put in a name or online handle, location in the world, and a few comments about MSX for Nishi's benefit, perhaps the ability to upload a small image could be optional for those who would like to upload a picture or a photograph of something extra.

This way, this could easily be found on the net, it could be distributed easily enough on the net, it's easy enough to fill out and submit an entry and it resolves language barrier or handwriting issues too since if Nishi wanted to read something and get this overall message in a language other than Japanese / English, he would have the ability to copy and paste it in an Online translator of his choice.

Does this sound like a good approach or is there an even better presentation in mind?

I'll see if I can point Jorito to this thread and see what he might be interested in doing first. Since this is one of the largest active MSX communities, I'm sure something like this would do a lot better if it were setup here.

Nishi-san is still active on the MSX scene. For example, Nishi-san recently certified the GR8BIT.

Sending card of gratitude will surely please Nishi-san. It is great idea.

Let's think beyond this act of sending a card - what exactly, as a community, we want or expect from Nishi-san? What he can expect from the community? He is a very busy man, leading a school, tutoring, participating in national and international committees, being a businessman, advisor and an inventor. Put yourself into his shoes, and write here what you think may interest him. This goes beyond just joining the forum, because once he joins, he will be expected to participate - right?

MRC is gonna do something to celebrate the 30th anniversary of MSX. There's no finished plan as of yet, but some of the ideas in this thread are also ideas we have floating around. I think it's best to the MRC team before doing any wild rogue actions all by yourself. After all, if we all join forces it's more fun and more succesful

During the preparations for TYME we did our very best to get Nishi involved in one way or another. At a certain moment, we were close with a video message almost being confirmed... But in the end, there was only silence....
