Thank you so much for your fast replies!
@Guillian I did not delete the SD kernel, just the romdisk (F3). Can I use the F4 recovery option anyways?
I will try everything in the evening and give feedback. Thanks!
Yes, the recovery process will reinstall Nextor kernel and ROM disk.
Recovery F4 and KERNEL.DAT did the magic.
Simple as that. ;-) Thanks guys, I will enjoy some MSX action now.
My MSX has a scart RGB out. Do I need a jp-euro scart adapter/cable? Since I live in Europe right now.
If it is a Japanese MSX with Japanese 21-pin RGB connector (same connector as SCART but different wiring), then yes you need an adapter cable.
(about autodetecting the slot)
This might give you some help... It takes care of the mapping and lots of other things...
Meits: Just to let you know (and others) - the solution works fine for detection part, however the part responsible for putting the characters into the keyboard buffers fails here (the 1[ENTER] or 2[ENTER] newer gets printed in DOS, although A$ gets set). Are there differences on the location of the keyboard buffers on different machines? I'm using NMS8255...
I remember doing something similar previously, and succeeded, but don't remember how exactly (I wanted to autoload a cloadable game, and wanted to put "run[ENTER]" into the keyboard buffer...)
EDIT:I found this routine but I'm too tired to test right now... this is not the same I used previously. But at least it seems to peek for the buffer location ... or something!
Hi
I don't know if this is an error from the megaflashrom, a bug in the the nextor kernel or another thing I'm doing wrong, I posted this question in other post but I got no answers...
I've flashed the Nextor alpha 2 kernel into my MegaFlashROM cart. I boot into Nextor, and mount a dsk with mapdrv g: IMAGE.DSK. After that, I copy some files into drive g:, and it seems that the partition table gets corruption, because when I do a DIR there is some weird characters in the file names, and if I try to load a bas file in basic I get a Device I/O error.
If I get this IMAGE.DSK and try to open in DiskManager, I get a warning about FAT corruption also.
I'm doing something wrong?
Thank you guys and keep up the good work!
Can you post your IMAGE.DSK and some of the files you are trying to copy?
Yes, this weekend I will do it.
But in the meantime, it is happening to me with any DSK, for example a blank DSK file created with DiskManager and copying any files on it (maybe it works when you copy one file, but if you copy three or four the dsk becames corrupted)
I have tested and seems to work fine here. I made an empty DSK using DiskManager, mounted it:
MAPDRV G: EMPTY.DSK
Then copied all files in A: to G:
COPY *.* G:
17 files were copied without problem.
Thank you for testing it for me.
Yes I know it is a very strange problem, I suppose that it is something on my setup.
Maybe my sd card should be defragmented? Maybe I flashed a wrong kernel? How do I reinstall everything to make sure it is installed fine?
Thank you Guillian
