How can I boot from a real floppy in a way that only the SCC+ emulation of the cartridge is used (so no Nextor etc. loading)?
Just disable Nextor holding R (cartridge in slot 1) or F (slot 2) while booting.

Oh, I had missed that. Thanks Guillian! However, It seems the SCC is not working, only the psg sounds. I tried to keep both R and S pressed during boot, but no SCC. Is this normal?
I always had the feeling that the MFR SCC+ SD is slower than Sunrise CF IDE and I think it's due to the SD cards I'm using (SDHC type 4 Transcend and SDHC type 10 Kingston). What are the recommended types and brands of SD cards?
By the way, is still possible to order a new cartridge?
I would be surprised if it made a difference. Each and every SD card is faster accessible than a turbo R can read/write to it.

The SCC/SCC+ of the cartridge is available. But if the software you are using does not search for it correctly (i.e.: search only on primary slots) it will not work.
Also, bear in mind that original Konami Game Collection search for (SD) Snatcher sound cartridges, that have an SCC-I and 64K RAM.
@karloch: When do you notice it is slower? I don't think MFR SCC+ SD is slower than Sunrise CF IDE. Also, your SDHC cards are quite faster than the speed a turbo R can access them, as Meits said.
So I guess your problem perhaps is related to Nextor trying to find a free cluster when writing files.
About ordering a new one. Yes, it is still possible.

Yes, SD cards can be much slower on file creation/writing when crowded with files. Karloch, try to compare both interfaces with the same SD card contents if you can.
It's slower when writing, that match what you are telling me. The SD cards I'm using are absolutely more crowed with files than the CF ones.
If you have a double SD card MFRSCC+SD version, you can put your "read-only" data (games, musics, etc...) on one SD card, and have a less-crowded "work" SD card (with temporary files, etc...).
Hello! I'm using a Sony HBF1-XV MSX2+ that I upgraded with 512Kb of internal RAM. Is there any benefit if I get the MegaFlash SCC+ SD with extra 512Kb RAM? Will my system show 1024Kb of total RAM? Is the non RAM version of the MegaFlash SCC+ SD only missing the RAM chip? Meaning, if I wanted to install RAM myself at a later date, would I only have to solder in the chip and it will work from the MegaFlash built-in firmware already? Or is an additional mapper chip required on the circuit board? Thank you!!
