I think i have sorted using the NEXTOR user guide, thank you
http://www.konamiman.com/msx/nextor/docs/Nextor%202.0%20Gett...
I did it from the NEXTOR prompt, but for got how i did it! ARGH!!
Seems that the MAPDRV command changes depending on the slot that the card is in. Shame there is no auto detection for this feature, but not to worry.
My fat12.bat file is as follows if the SD drive is in Slot 1
mapdrv g: 2 1 1-1
echo FAT12/MSXDOS_1 14Mb partition set as drive g
This works fine when the cartridge is in Slot 1, however, I seem unable to set it for Slot 2?
My machine is a Sony HB-F9S
I intend setting up a 256k RAMdisk as drive h: too
From Nextor documentation:
The usage syntax for MAPDRV is: MAPDRV [/L] : |d|u[-[][[-]]]
Edit: Seems the forum is removing the parameters: MAPDRV drive: partition device index-LUN index driver slot-driver subslot
Nextor kernel is in subslot 3
Devices are:
1 = ROM Disk
2 = SD Slot 1
3 = SD Slot 2
So if you want to mount on drive G: the second partition of SD card 1 and the cartridge is on slot 1
MAPDRV G: 2 2 1-3
The same with the cartridge on slot 2
MAPDRV G: 2 2 2-3
So if you want to mount on drive G: the second partition of SD card 1 and the cartridge is on slot 1
MAPDRV G: 2 2 1-3
Gave me an invalid disk driver error, however the command i used worked, confusion? yes! I managed to do what i wanted to do. I will be trying things on a real MSX1, hence I set this partition up. In case my friends MSX1 has a problem with the mapper
In what MSX model are you trying it?
From Nextor documentation:
The usage syntax for MAPDRV is: MAPDRV [/L] <drive>: <partition>|d|u[<device index>-[<LUN index>][<driver slot>[-<driver subslot>]]]
Edit: Seems the forum is removing the parameters: MAPDRV drive: partition device index-LUN index driver slot-driver subslot
This works well...
mapdrv g: 2 1 1-1
Installs the FAT12 partition, 2nd partition, slot 1
I do not understand the 1-1 parameter, but it seems to work after various attempts?
The cartridge is in slot 1 of my Sony HBF9S
If I try it in Slot 2 of the machine i get an error "***Invalid disk driver
I am unable to get the device to work with the FAT12 partition in the 2nd slot, but it is not a big problem
This works well...
mapdrv g: 2 1 1-1
Installs the FAT12 partition, 2nd partition, slot 1
Nice to hear you got it working, but that should not work for several resons:
- Device 1 is ROM Disk. So it can not be used to select a partition of the SD card
- Nextor is in subslot 3, so the last parameter must be x-3 (e.g.: 1-3, 2-3)
In fact, I tested on openMSX and I get an "invalid disk driver error"
What do you get after executing "DRVINFO" command?
here's another noob question...
Now when I hold down ESC (to not autoboot Space Manbow)
I am booted into the normal file explorer which is great... I shut off the MSX, go to my pc, copy over a bunch of files from the pc to the SD card (some trilo tracker TMU songs).
go back to the msx, put in sd card... Do same thing. (HOLD ESC)
This time I'm instead shown:
"Do you have an average SCC?:" and I answer Y
"Enter SCC-Slot (1/2):" I enter 1
Then it's just a list of what looks like sound channels. Now what?! How do I get into the File Explorer again?!
This is the program I am booted up with rather than the file explorer, and I don't know how to get into file explorer

Any help is useful!
Why am I booted into MuSICA instead of the File Explorer or DOS even? And how can I get back into the File Explorer?
I have Panasonic A1GT
