Tecnobytes (brazilian hw maker) developed the V9990 Powergraph, with the following specs:
Composite video out (NTSC / 60Hz)
S-Video video out (NTSC / 60 Hz)
Connector with various signals (RGB/15KHz, CSync, Ys, 21MHz and others)
512KB VRAM Dual Port - extremely fast access
up to 32.769 simultaneous colors (not truncated like YJK)
64 palletes from 32.768 colors. RGB levels are between 0 an 31.
Interlaced
Overscan
Smooth scroll (both vertical and horizontal)
Hw commands - much faster and advanced
Fast access to VRam and registers
Many screens from V9938 and V9958 (5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12) but with more pages. I.e. the screen 5 has 16 pages!
Vertical scroll up to 16 pages and horizontal up to 8 pages
Resolutions: 256x212,384x240,512x212, 768x240 and others
Sprite number up to 256, 125 on the same screen and 16 on the same line
Sprite made of 16x16 pixels, each pixel can have a different color
New Tiled Modes: P1 (256 x 212 x 16 colors, similar to Screen 5 with dual plane - independent scroll for each plane) and P2 (512 x 212 x 16 colors, similar to Screen 7 and 1 plane).
