Finaly found some time to play with my Neo again and look into the high piched noise problem.
I've put a frequency analyser on the sound ouput showing a 2.621Khz noise.

Not sure where it comes from, but it's a realy anoiing beep.

I've did some tests with a small filter and I'm able to cut out the high piched noise at a normal sound level.
To achieve this I used this schematic:

R = 1 Ohm
C = 10uF

When I amplifie the sound to realy loud I can still heare the noise, but I never have my volume that loud.

Hi Luppie! I have exactly the same high pitch noise and I was wondering if you can help me with that filter...did you fix it internal or external? Really great that you found something that reduces the high pitch noise...

I just put it in the Cinch plug, so I dont have to modify the Neo.
