In fact, scanning of MSX Magazines is complete at last --just a few rare supplements remaining. The third and last disc will be presented at Barcelona meeting next saturday, containing all the magazines from the early times of MSX in Japan (years 83-85).
Something that surprised me in these magazines, is the fair amount of hardware gadgets that didn't its way out from Japan to our countries: cheap lightpen-equipped computers, with optional video unit that was in fact a external VDP (with screen5-like capabilities before MSX2 existed); MSX-controlled laser disc or VHD units with superimpose capabilities, and games for them with superb graphics that were not matched by other home computer systems until the nineties... and this all, in years when MSX here was still unknown or just beginning. The software produced back then in Japan did reach our countries one way or the other in the years following, but for us these awesome accesories remained simply undreamed of.
