Bricked Neo Zemmix

Hi everyone!

Due to using the wrong tool to load a DSK I came up flashing my Neo Zemmix with the contents of Rune Master II. Yes, I know, it is *so* funny, but now I'm stuck with a bricked Neo Zemmix.

How can I fix it? Do I need extra hardware, such as a special cable to reflash it from a PC? Or can I just reflash it using a SD card and some black magic? Any help will be welcome!

Hello.
I bricked too my zemmix neo updating the firmware(wrong tool or file??)
I have the usb blaster and quartus 2 v9.0 sp2 web edition(32 bits) and the new firrmware from kdl,but when the flashing operation starts reports an error.
on the tutorials says that the altera must be in program mode(run to program),but where is this switch in the zemmix neo?

Oh... Sorry to hear that. I can download those but you need to send it back to Korea and it costs way to much.
Just look for some guy who has use blaster.

You need to use at least quartus v.11 to flash firmware.

Hi,i tried with quartus v11(link of the howto file) with the same results.
How can we turn the zemmix neo at the program mode?

look at the cable that connects the zemmix to usb blaster, try with other position. I made the same mistake and quartus v11 and the usb blaster works!

Recovery Guide
Here is how to flash the device after a failed update using a personal computer with Windows OS.

1. Buy and install a compatible download cable for EPCS4 like USB ByteBlaster.

2. Download and install Altera Programmer for Windows (freeware):

3. Open the case of your 1chipMSX or Zemmix Neo and attach the cable on the JTAG connector with the pin-1 towards the front of device.
4. Run the programmer and power on the device, select active serial programming method to load the 'recovery.pof' file.
