Hi again
Just today I received the membranes. During this weekend I will try them.
I will keep you informed!
By the way, the plastic color is blue. not our MSX-basic blue, but a bit similar

Very Nice,
Can't wait to get mine.
Good luck with the testing, and have a great weekend.
thanks!
Hi again!
Well, this weekend has been a membrane weekend with problems. All the membranes I tested failed so, saturday, I called the business manager about it, and he came to my house 20 minutes ago, to take back them again after I explained the problems with those membranes.
The sketch is perfect, everything its on the right place. The membrane itself works when it is connected directly to the msx board ouside the keyboard case but the thickness is different. An official keyboard membrane has a thickness of 0,3mm while the new ones thickness are 0,5mm.
So, after the visit, the business manager of the manufacturer take back the membranes to the factory. Its their fault because they had a turbor keyboard to test the membranes, there is no need to use a turboR computer to test them, just the keyboard, the membrane and a multimeter to test continuity while a key is pressed.
Sorry guys, we've got to wait for the v2 of the membranes, maybe in one week they will be ready. I will keep you all informed.

do you mean that the middle layer (the separator) is too thick? and the key pressure is not enought to make the others layers to be in contact?
Well, I mean the overall thick, the 3 layers together, but not the middle layer alone. Its true, maybe the problem is with the middle layer, later I will try to compare the middle layer of both membranes, the original and the new one.

EDIT: I've compared the middle layer of both membranes. The original is 0,15mm, and the new one its 0,2mm.
0,05mm its a too small difference for the middle layer... well, dont know it really.

but you tested it outside, is to say by hand, and it worked?, so, the only thing that can fail if you don't mount it incorrectly, is that the key don't do enough pressure as your fingers.
another option is the membranes itself too rigid and the key can't move them anyway.
the keys have little springs?, if so, it is ok, it is the membrane fault...
other keyb methods are having little sponges in each key, them can fail with time.
Is there any update on this?
Hi again
Raymond, tomorrow the business manager will come again to my house. This time he will bring 2 or 3 units of the "membrane V2" to test them. Lets cross fingers!!!

One wouldn't immediately expect the first fial to occur, therefore it is indeed logical to produce a (few) test units first. Unfortunate in this case that this was learned after a faulty batch. Very sorry for that.
Good hopes for the test of the V2.
You're doing a great job Makinavaja. If you succeed, a lot of Panasonic computers will stay in shape quite a bit longer
