Reminder: MSX Fair Nijmegen 2015

Here's a reminder for the MSX fair in Nijmegen of 2015: the 24th of January you should be in Nijmegen if MSX gives you warm feelings. This will be the 10th edition of the fair, with a record number of reserved tables. So plenty of things to do and see and people to talk with!

Maybe one day I will be able to go on a trip to Europe and I will have to ensure it coincides with one of these fairs - not sure the wife would agree though

I'm sad to inform that Near Dark is not going to Nijmegen. The music disk I've worked on with my Darky friends is going to be released now nevertheless... In fact, it's released while I'm typing this...

I stayed at home too, got flew and due to snow and stuff no trains around Utecht and Amsterdan anyway (I live between both cities and rely on public transportation). I'm going back to bed, wish all a nice day! Maybe next year I'll have a drivers license hehe

Not a big fan of traveling myself and in Holland.

And it doesn't matter if there's 5mm or 5cm of snow. When snow is expected, dutch traincompany NS starts canceling loads of trains because cancelled trains don't count as delayed trains. So their on time departure score stays high and the government won't fine them.
Holland can't handle winter anymore since governmental companies (public transport, energy companies etc) got privatized. That was good for the consumer they always said. Only thing that happened is they got more expensive, gave less service, let maintainance be done by the cheapest subcontracter, and so on.
No wonder why everything was better in the past...
The sick thing is that I already expected this to happen the whole last week, so my disappointment isn't even that big... But having just typed that makes me angry...

Edit:
Funny aspect to the delay scheme in the middle picture and you just have to be someone who knows it, but every none-NS-line is green and thus without delay.

I was already driving to pick up a friend to go to Nijmegen when I thought it was not going to be a good idea to drive there today because of the snow. Next time!

I'm sorry I didn't make it from London to Nijmegen! I originally thought I might get together with some MSX enthusiasts from over here and travel to Nijmegen as a group, but it seemed no one else was interested. I haven't got a passport at the moment either. I don't let the weather rule my life and would have been happy to arrive there the night before whether or not there was snow. If I lived near Utrecht and had a cold or flu, I would have taken some Paracetamol, had some cheese and onion sandwiches and satsumas, then walked over to Nijmegen, taking more Paracetamol and eating more cheese and onion sandwiches and satsumas on the way!

I wonder when is the next MSX gathering in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe? I recently found out about the monthly MVM (MSX Vrienden Marienberg) group meetings in Marienberg (which should have two dots over the first e) and that it was actually one of their members who sold me my Philips VG8235 MSX2. BTW Marienberg is east of Zwolle, northwest of Enschede, and southwest of Leeuwaarden/Ljouwert, in Overijssel province. I don't think there will be another large, exclusively MSX gathering in the Netherlands this year, though.

It was a great fair once again, just so many people to talk to, as always time is too short .
