The files are available for download in the download DB.
Dome-alpha3 is best playable, but in blue MSX you need to press ctrl to boot correctly.
press space for building units. If you only want to build heavy tanks, move the heavy tank, leave the rest in place (quad, trike and light tank) and press space again.

I've also added 2 video's of the Beta version of Dome on youtube:

I've added some of the original music Paragon made back in the days.

Thats a nice find..

Now to continue ; i have restored some of the original sources and put them into an eclipse (yeah i know) project which can be found @ https://github.com/antalk/DOME .

I've also started to try to a build running (with sjasm) but this is a slow process and i'm still missing resources like sprites , screen 5 images, sound etc.etc. I had something with compression done in the game (popcom?) .

But have a look around; the latest build in the form of a .dsk image can also be downloaded from there.

greetz!

Use e.g. a guide like https://choosealicense.com/ and be aware that there are many choices via https://choosealicense.com/appendix

I think as for open source licenses in general people choose either MIT / BSD (“do whatever you want”) or GPL (copyleft, derived works must be GPL as well).

For libraries, people generally tend to choose MIT more often since the license never conflicts with other licenses and can therefore be integrated in pretty much every other product. For end products I would say GPL is more common because people want make sure they can feed back changes in derived works back into the main product.

Personally I always use Simplified BSD (aka BSD 2-clause) for my projects, because it is simpler for me to understand and I want to allow others to use (portions of) my code as they see fit. OpenMSX uses GPL because they find it important that there is a guarantee that changes in community forks can be brought back to the main project.

Actually there is one exception, for my game project I licensed the code with Simplified BSD and the creative work with Creative Commons BY-NC-ND, a restrictive license. This combination of licenses means that if people include the creative assets they are bound by the CC terms. I might relicense it to fully BSD when the project is complete, but at least until then I don’t want people to run away with the parts that form the identity of the game.

Good news. I like this kind of game. I didn't know Dome but it seems very fun. It would be a shame not to finish it.

GFX01.SC5, GFX02.SC5 and GFX04.SC5 files in the Dome-alpha3.dsk are in BSAVE format. The size is 29kB so the sprites seem included. GFX03.DAT seems to be a specific format.

I tried the version Beta on Turbo R with my CF interface (from the CF). It becomes very buggy from the time the unexplored parts turn white.
