Anyone knows what happened to the original game idea? It's completely different from the finished product. I wonder if there's a prototype of it somewhere...

Hmm, well I can't read any of the Japanese. Is it actually saying something specific about the game, or is it the usual ''fluff'? Smile

It is not uncommon for video-games to go through many iterations and transformations during their development. Especially back then, when the investments were a lot lower and games + teams were much smaller, it was probably a lot easier to pivot and make drastic changes.

Also, it wouldn't be the first time that a publisher or someone from marketing just screwed up and used the wrong footage. Wink

As for the why the game got changed, there's an interview with the composer Yasuhito Saito in one of the The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers books, where he tells that the main designer of Cross Blaim left the company suddenly.
