I Have problem using .dsk-files with sedai linux / openmsx. I bought pi 400 with intention to use it as msx computer. I have copied systemromfiles (machine-, extensions- and misc-folders) to root/.openmsx/share/systemroms and games to root/.openmsx/share/software. In opemsx i have changed default hardware to VG8235. Roms an tapes works but i can't get disks work. I can choose .disk -file and mount it, but it wont boot(with FILES i get I/O error). Same .dsk works fine in pi os / openmsx-setup.

What i am doing wrong? I have little experience with Linux and openmsx.

Do you realize that the VG8235 has a single sided disk drive?

I tried also with nms 8245 and FS-A1GT(not working). Are those file paths right?

I don’t have experience with Sedai, it seems you use the root user’s home directory to store the disk files. Does openMSX run under the root user account? If so that is a bit of an odd choice from Sedai creators, but openMSX should be able to access the files. If openMSX runs under a different (non privileged) account it may not be able to access the directory and/or files, in such case place the game disks in the non privileged user’s home directory.

I've stored all the rom/DSK in the USB stick "media/usb0"
(it is more convenient for me to add and remove files)

For now i've tried only roms.

check if it mounted read-only by default in Sedai, might be the issue

And also check the permissions on the files, openMSX will open dsk files as writable so it needs write permission. You can try chmod 666 on one dsk to see if that solves the issue

Small correction, openMSX first tries to open dsk files in read-write mode. But if that doesn't work it will retry in read-only mode. So read permission should be sufficient.

I tried chmod 666 and it worked once, but not in second time.
