Yes, works fine now Smile

Cool. In fact I'm only using 800 bytes of RAM at the moment, so I'm going to use E000h as the start address of RAM from now on.

For the moment, I have confirmation that the game works well on:
- Casio PV-7 (TMS9118NL)
- National CF-2700 (TMS9918)

Could someone who owns an MSX1 with a Toshiba clone of the TMS9918 please test my game to be 100% sure that there is no compatibility issue?

Works fine on openMSX for me. I have to admit this could become the best tennis game for MSX!!!

I still have Konami's Tennis at the top of my list, but this Final Smash looks very promising. Keep up the good work!

OpenMSX is part of my developement ecosytem (with my NMS8250).
I also tried on BlueMSX, Meisei, Emulicious, fMSX and ruMSX (everything work fine).
As I don't use Bios, my main concern is the compatibility with special configuration (MSX1 with Toshiba VDP, MSX1 with MSX2 cartridge, etc.).

EDIT: Oh.... perhaps you mean try Toshiba VDP through OpenMSX emulation? I haven't tried it yet but I don't know if OpenMSX emulates precisely the specificities of these VDP....

Thank you very much. There is a bit of you in this project as the first version of my crt0 files were based on yours. ^^

Amazing project !

I tried the ROM file in MSXVR (MSX1 VM) and it work's perfectly.

This game could be the best MSX Tennis game ever.

Here is a new version of my Final Smash project: fs0211.rom.

It's still very WIP, but as I'm using direct access to hardware I'd like to make sure that the game works on all MSX and especially those with TMS9918 clones.

I tried a Sony HB-10P via OpenMSX -- it works fine --, but I don't know if OpenMSX emulates the Toshiba T6950 processor specificities correctly. Same for the Yamaha YM2220. Can I rely on OpenMSX for compatibility with those clones?

If someone with a real MSX 1 with one of these clones could test the ROM, that would be really great.
The list of these machines:

The game is supposed to work on all MSX (it requires only 8 KB of RAM) but it is currently set for 50 Hz.

I really want to finish this project so I'm trying to stay focused on the technical side for now. I don't mind feedback on the gameplay, but I don't want to make any premature adjustments. As soon as all the mechanics are in place, I will do playtesting and try to organize a tournament via WebMSX.

I've just been messing around with the practise mode... it plays pretty nice and smooth.
Would you be OK with it if I would add the game to the homebrew section of my site? Or any plans to enter MSXDev'21 with this game?

What is know of these VDP chips is emulated. But we can't emulate what is not known, of course. Always confirm on a real MSX to be sure.

Yes, I plan to participate to MSXDev'21 and I will be happy to enter your homebrew section when the game will be released.
I also plan to produce a ROM cartridge (if I feel any interest).

Thanks for the information. Do you have a list of known issues? I know those clone don't support the so called "Screen 1.5" but I don't know for other differences.

I hope someone can confirm on real hardware the game is working well.
