ask erikie if he sells cpld only (small package) for other diy project. Or put in his web vhdl code for using with other cpld model.
or
other cpld, for sharsym DIY project, try to Contact with l.padial:
msx.deneb.nl/index.html
sinfox board is a very good option without cpld but with scc.
best regards
I can sell CPLD that is no problem but I need to look into which version will suit the modification best.
The smaller the better but we need enough pins for 2.2 functionality
@ usario, which sd version did implement in that lattice? and how many sd slots do you handle with it?

I don't need the cpld, but it would be interesting for other DIY users or better the vhdl code for using it in other cpld devices.
this cpld (44 pin) it's used for the v1 version of DIY of Y.seo,
for v2.2 is needed more i/o pin or if using the same cpld extract a few logic outside the cpld for free i/o pin needed for 2.2
I know that publishing the vhdl will only improve the design, but I want to sell first all my PCBs I have at home. Looking at the current sell rate it won't take too long for me to do that
I had the same problem using a 44 pin altera cpld. Could only fit v1.0 and also needed a ttl chip for extra IOs already.
The SD v2.2 interfaces arrived yesterday and this evening I managed to free some time to help my dad get his interface to work.
We followed the instructions on Erik's homepage (formatting, initializing the card and using the DISKMAN.EXE tool to add some diskimages). Before long we had a disk image selected and booted - YAY!
After some attempts with pressing boot keys the game continued loading and after a quick playtest my dad proclaimed everything was working fine.
However, neither of us knew how to unload the emulated disk image and have the interface+sd card boot from system partition 0 again. Somehow, after numerous resets, reinserting of the SD card and calling upon XCHGMMC.COM we got lucky. Then, we tried the next disk image we added using the windoze tool but after calling DISKEXE.COM the led for diskdrive B lit up, as well as the led for the SD card. Both kept burning and after a while we concluded the machine was frozen up.
So we hit the reset button.
Now the card won't boot - after the MSX2 logo scrolls up, all that happens is a nice blue screen. My dad concluded he borked his interface and now I am typing this cry for HELP!
PS: the MSX2 my dad was using is a double drived NMS 8250 with - as far as he knows - no expansions (such as memory, 7MHz, etc) installed
PS2: I am off to bed now, still two weeks to go before vacation time
Reflash it.
Switching to system partition is done by pressing STOP at boot time, then press 0.
The usage of the device is not very straight-forward and sometimes is misleading, it needs a real FAQ, and I believe with an increased user base we are going to create it soon.
reflashing is easy, I had to do it too once, almost the same problem.
Just put atload.com and the bios .rom on a dos floppy and install the bios again.
One question: I know I can run non file-based flopies *.dsk files with runit.com, but is there a tool to run (self-made) file-based *.dsk files?
Or should I use a partition /diskman.com for each floppy?
another way to get into the system partition is to boot without SD card and then use xchgmmc to get it activated again. After that use diskman to switch to another partition.
I will put this on the FAQ when I have time
Reflash it.
How do I reflash the cartridge if it doesn't even boot and locks the MSX after the logo scrolls up? Are you perhaps suggesting my dad powers on his MSX2 with the ATLOAD disk and THEN insert the cartridge? Just checking, because he might be a bit reluctant to do such a thing.

Ah thanks! That is exactly the sort of information currently missing from the documentation (which is also missing, mostly ).

Yes, that is how I got to the system partition before things went pineapple-shaped

You switch OFF the switch on the cartridge, boot from floppy, then switch it on.
I also suggest to ask SD drive usage questions in
MMC/SD drive newbie - need help thread.
