We reported before that TeddyWareZ released al their MSX products on the net, as freeware. In the reactions, msxhans spotted that -indeed- their crossdevelopment tool Chaos Assembler is not available.

I assume this product is still not to be considered as freeware? Or did the TwZ crew forget one of their products? :)

still thinking about this one Wink
It would not really be fair to make it freeware, since there have been ppl who bought it recently.

People bought it RECENTLY while its development has been stopped and all source-code is lost ? Not informing the users and potential buyers about that, THAT is unfair...

imho it would be unfair if the product was not yet completed.
But we're selling a full working version. I use it a lot myself, and am very happy with it.

I definately think the product is worth it's price. People can try out the trail version, and if they like it, get the unlimited version.
btw, you say we lost all the sourcecode, but that's not true..
though, since I'm not a delphi coder, and d-fader is not active anymore, there won't be any more updates.

That's strange, I had a couple of chats with d-fader in which he literally said he had lost all the sourcecode.
It's true what you say about it being a complete product... I'm just a bit disappointed at the whole situation, especially because of the plans to base a newer Chaos Assembler on tniASM Smile

afaik d-fader still has the sources of version 1.0
anywayz, I can imagine you being dissapointed.
I would have liked some more updates too..
Though CA3's got the most important features, and a lot more, there are still
some things which would be very nice to implement. Like using Tniasm in stead of tasm.

Hello.

I bought CA3 long ago. I downloaded just one update and I can't find it now; I remember you changed the about window with a nice scroll and music and added one or two tools (watching pictures, I think). Where could I download the update/s?

Regards.

afaik Chaos Assembler is available in the webshop right here on MRC. Maybe it's an idea to put the update online in the download database, just like the demo-version?

hey,

It used to be online at ca3.cjb.net, but that link doesn't work anymore
(d-fader hosted it, but he changed from provider, so it's gone now I guess)
I can email you the update if you want. (it's about 2MB)

Come to think of it... I could have handled it via MSN as well... :\
