I am very interested in it, too, as it's a fantastic project! Is someone still working on it or planning something?
UZIX is open source, so anyone can download the source and continue development...
Last thing I saw was Adriano showing that he could connect to the internet (browsing sites, connecting to IRC, etc) using his cell phone and Uzix... but after that I dont know about anything new being developed though
Prodatron how about dumas any chance that we could see symbos support it?
Right now, there's no Dumas at all....
I really hope that this gets resolved soon.It would be something like interface cpc has and can go to internet.I have read the articles for dumas a long time ago and i always liked that idea.Come on dumas developers give it a chance it is something good for our beloved machine!
Are you talking about the SymbiFace 3?; maybe it's time to start thinking in new hardware...
The development of the SYMBiFACE 3 should be finished at the end of this year, so production will start in december of january. The ethernet part is completed, and there is already a network demon available for SymbOS (+SymFTP, SymPache and SymTel ). Depending on the Dumas status (if it's still on hold then) we will think about producing an adapter for the MSX, too. In this case you can connect the SF3 to your MSX, too, and can use the already available software in SymbOS. But the SF3 makes it quite easy to write own software/drivers: As an example a Telnet client can be realised with 50 lines in BASIC
Erm, sorry, this becomes quite offtopic now...
Not at all prodatron!Since many bad news come from the development of dumas we need anything that can keep us interested till dumas is complete. What changes would have to happen to have sf3 to msx?It would be great prodatron for msx to have an easy way to connect to internet.
I guess there would be a little "adapter" catridge inserted into an MSX slot, and this would be connected via a cable to the SF3 card.
Uzix is, indeed, a great project. When I installed that OS in my MSX I could see for first time:
