Shows RoboSID player using the OPL4 ('MoonSound') to create C-64 like sounds B-) . This video is recorded using OpenMSX, on a real OPL4 it sounds better...

The player itself emulates the 6510 CPU and is based on the source from Simon Owen.

(An MSX emulating both the all almighty 6510 and SID? I can hear C64 users screaming in pain. LOL)

I don't have a MoonSound myself, development was done using BlueMSX. Though I think the OpenMSX emulation already sounds better, testing on a real MSX with MoonSound combination gave the best results.

Btw I submitted the player to the download section so others can try for themself...

What kind of technique is used? Just lots of samples of sid sounds?

Just uploaded the file, i was the beta tester for ToriHino.

Testing was done on a real Turbo-R FS-A1St and a Sony Hb-F500P msx2 with Moonsound.

@Latok: I mailed to your e-mail address, hope that works better.

@Msd: Actually it is using waves as generated by the OPL4 ( 2 FM operators are used per channel ). Frequency and wave pattern are converted from SID to OPL4. Next to that also the Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release settings are converted.
