I'd prefer to buy new software as, in fact, we can still do sometimes. Old software, we have plenty of it.

What is the advantage of MSX3? I do not see any benefit..

I have a lot of customers in machine automation to which I supply SBC's & SOC's. I really can't see any reason for them to move to such a platform. Even if they were to produce the MSX3 with industrial components and giving it a decent longevity

If you are thinking of old stuff support, the only advantage would be the slot for cartridges/interfaces if you want to use real ones, or the better input lag as most legacy should be done on FPGA.
If you think on this as a new device that happens to have an ARM processor and will have a new language and environment evolved from MSX standards and the IOT stuff support, that is the benefit Nishi wants to sell... Whether it is what you want or not it is a different story. Can we say that a Raspberry PI has ARM support and BSD support is a reason for anyone to ask what is the advantage of an ARM MAC?
Not trying to make anyone love the new device, but it is too naive to think that anyone doing an official evolution of the standard would still talk about Zilog instead of using a cheap and efficient CPU architecture. ARM is the way for the present and future for quite some devices and is a fine choice to a device that wants to be cheap, scalable and not have constraints for the security requirements nowadays.

Next time, I will do it in English with Zoom as DEVCON2. Probably at the end of September.
DEVCOM3 is in the Netherlands and I would like to visit at an MSX event next January.
My guess is that what Mr Nishi is basically saying is that he wants Manuel to host his annual MSX fair in January rather than March, so that Devcon3 can be a part of it. :D :P
I have a small question but I don't know if it's possible to answer already :
It is obvious that I would buy the MSX3 but in a complete configuration with keyboard (unclear if it is MSX2+ style or separate keyboard).
I also welcome the download system to find old games and software. (If sales are low it will be more complicated to get new software or games from recognized companies):
I have a PC at home that I use very little. Only go on the internet, keep my photos, and rarely write a letter and print with my printer (which is more useful directly from my mobile). The MSX3 will not be a PC but do you think it will be with HDMI and possible to go on the internet? With HD or SSD? With even a very basic word processor?
If so, then I could get rid of my PC at home which is of almost no use to me.

I've had 4 MSX models since 1986 up to the last Panasonic MSX Turbo-R FS-A1GT. Do we know who manufactures the keyboards and CPUs in Japan for the MSX3?
From what MSX3 variants Nishi has shown so far the keyboard has always been separate, but it sounded like more variants are coming. From the pictures he is using a compact IBM-PC keyboard with it, not an MSX keyboard. I hope a proper MSX keyboard will be available.
I'm pretty sure he said it will have HDMI, else it wouldn't be very useful to new users that doesn't have a classic CRT or so, since new TV-sets and monitors have started to scrap analog video recently.
I think it should be about as useful as a replacement to a modern PC that a Raspberry Pi would be (so not very convenient but possible). If you have any OS-specific software that you really need it probably won't be any good.
Regarding the ability to buy old games, I think this is mostly like Nintendo's Virtual Console or those "Mini" emulator-based systems that are popular nowadays. In other words, it's mostly aimed for people that no longer have their old system they grew up with and want to play these games again, or people that didn't grow up with the system and are interested but don't won't to spend the time, money and space required for the real system. And finally in some cases a chance to buy some very rare and expensive games legally and without having to spend too much on the real tape/cartridge/disk.
