Thanks rollins, I wasn't sure where it could be downloaded, I have a copy here on floppy disk, seems pointless now i use a Sunrise CF, i have in effect a 32Mb ramdisk.

I have a copy of such a program as well, ~somewhere~ in my disk trays. It was Ramdisk vX.YY by Paul te Bokkel, maybe you've got the same. It was very handy when it came down to mass-copying disks on my old NMS8255 w/1MB RAM though

Yes, it is. Tested and it work perfectly. on my msx2 unexpanded give about 60kb of ramdisk..

Good call manuel; I take it well that program does only disk-to-disk, right? What I meant was, copy all files to RAMDISK, then copy them back onto a fresh disk. Automagically gets all files ordered as well, no gaps in between files, the lot. Does FastCopy do that too? I do know that it is *the* program when it comes down to making sector-based, 1:1 copies.

I wish it was that easy to copy japanese games. IIRC I've tried what you're thinking, copy the contents to ramdisk then to a fresh disk. Didn't work according to plan, I find out the games are unaccessible through dos.

Fastcopy doesn't work for me either, I get a bunch of errors...I believe I stated this before in another thread. Never did figure out why I can't backup anything on my MSX2+ or my PC.

Didn't work according to plan, I find out the games are unaccessible through dos.Probably those games contain either sector-based information which doesn't get copied when copying file-based, maybe a special bootsector you're copying from/to a broken disk. These days, disks tend to wear off faster than in the old days, especially HD disks.
