That answered my question . So the game can't be saved on a driveless MSX2 computer , with the Megaflashrom + SD .

AFAIK, Nextor FAT16 works fine, but of course, could be bugs in Nextor or SD driver.

Also it is possible the FAT16 problems occuring overhere, could be refered to formatting SD cards FAT16 on Mac OS.
I'm still investing... this afternoon I will format the SD cards FAT16 on a Windows/DOS machine to check if this solves the issues.

What you actually do is simulate the original game, which is on cartridge. For driveless computers Konami inserted the password system. Those are rediculously long, but they do the job Smile

I'm not sure. Have you tried to use the /P option on both ROMs?

About the online manual.
In this topic and the reactions in the news post, a lot of things have been explained by Guillian which are not in the manual, for example to keep a certain key pressed while booting. This fact makes me hope the online manual will be updated.

Hi Guillian,

Great support you give here on msx.org, for your great hardware.
one little suggestion for improvement of the manual: maybe you should add a version number/ latest update on the first page, and maybe also add page numbers?

keep up the good work

I have a question regarding the Fony demo disks, the SCC demo and "black humor"
When i install the Fony SCC demo with opfxsd fony.dsk /d1 i can run the disk with "D" pressed. And then i get the question from inside the demo which cartridge slot is the scc inserted. Then i give "1" as the slot but no sound.
Then i booted with "d" and "s" pressed. D for extra mem and S for scc/scc+, still no sound.
And with "black humor" the demo does not boot correctly, i also tried to put the disk into a DSK file myself but i get "not a dos disk" when i use -> fdsave c: Fony21.dsk or getdisk.com for that matter.
The demos are in the download database here on mrc under demos/disks/fony demo #1 and fony demo #2.

I have checked FDD1 and works fine here (holding "S"). Have you updated the DSKROM.ROM? I updated it some weeks ago.

About FDD2, it also works fine but it seems the DSK file on MRC are wrong. I just converted them from 720KB to 360KB using this tools and worked for me.

I have updated the diskrom (opfxsd dskrom.rom /i1) then i flashed fony demo 1 (opfxsd fdd1.dsk /d1 and reset the msx. Booted with "S" and the demo starts and asks which slot the scc is in i give "1" but no sound.
With a normal scc in slot 2 it works fine, and a scc konami gave has music.

I am going to try Fony demo 2 with the link you provided to convert the disks now.
