Considering my lack of skills I'm pretty happy with this schematic:

I'm not 100% it's good (not sure about the relay, I've used a 5V SPDT one, pretty common shape I think); but let me know if you want it (just in case you didn't make yours).
It mounts a PCB mounted DIN8; but it can easily be swapped by some solder pads instead...

You can replace R1 by 20R trimpot to adjust read level

Bumping this topic with new information.
I have drawn the schematic of the FA-32 ( more precisely from the C3427-1 board) and uploaded it to a Github repository in Eagle and in PDF format.

I should work later on the PCB, probably using easy to find connectors for Input/Output (straight DIN and P2/P4)

Single face version for Hammond 1593J, with DIN-5 and P2/P4 jacks (PJ-301 / PJ-201)
The DIN connector exceeds the box height slightly, nevertheless is should be possible to mount it. I should route another version of the board with a DB-9 connector.

Added a version of board with DB-9 connector instead of DIN. Also added:

  • Two options for Transistor (original 2SC945 and alternative BC338)
  • Two options for Relay (original Fujitsu and ML2)

And the wiring between the CASIO and DB-9 for the board is:
