Somebody interested in this? The funny thing would be scan fan made magazines QR Codes and insert this is an BAS autolaunching BAS file.I guess a cellphone with a app and a cord, with some soft msx side would do it.
What do you think?

Hey so cool AxelF,
what do you think, how the msx could "read" a QR-code easily ?
How to transfert instantly datas?

I picture this as a low cost solution for "sharing" information. I'll try to explain a very easy example:

- I play an MSX game
- When the game is over, I get a QR code
- When I scan that QR code with an smartphone, my score is posted to an online leaderboard where I can put my name (or picture, or avatar, etc.)

Therefore I can compare myself to other MSX players, making the games more enticing (and, in a way, more "social").

Lotus F3, published at MSXdev'07, coded by dvik & joyrex, included a similar system but using codes that you have to code in a specialy setup website. With QRs everything would be easier.

I we can get a decent, fast and tiny QR generator in Z80 assembler, I would love to try the idea!

Hello Pitpan, I really like your idea!
I took time to depict my Idea ,maybe it was not well described before, is:

-I am sat on a sofa reading a Magazine, this magazine is so cool, it has a page named new game of the month:
with some QR codes printed on.

-I use my smarthphone, with my QR-MSX app, taking shots of 2-3 or 10 QR Codes, my shots are directly sent to my MSX computer with the help of a ...bluetooth receiver on a special cartridge or I don't what thingy.

-My MSX, tells me the game is complete, I can play the new game of the month.

-I am so excited, and my neigbhoors too, that we are all starting MSX fanzines to make the world better,
and improve our MSX-basic skillz !

interesting idea.

I was thinking about using ethernet carts to send out some high score. Using QR would be probably a better idea.

Maybe QR code + some code you can type manually (for the rare few people on this planet who HAS MSX but NO smartphone Big smile)

Well, it's easier than that, but less hi-tech: the QR can point out to a website with a WAV file that can be directly loaded in your MSX by just plugin the "ear" jack into your smartphone headphones entry. Et voila! You scanned a QR code and loaded an MSX game into your computer with no extra hardware required. Too bad it won't work for Turbo-R (and will only be possible for games that can be loaded from cassette).
