hello msx fans Smile

well... i tried installing the game ( it's as you know 2 different .dsk ) on normal floppies of 720kb). but i can't ! diskmanager says the files are incorrect. and even in windows or msdos pc modes, the size is just bigger than real 720kb formatted floppy Sad.

i tried seeking informations, sure it's playable in emulators, but that's not the real feeling... and it seems it's playable IF we have harddrive/smc mmc support card (dont have any..)

but did anyone succeeded installing it on 2 real floppies ? is there some really weird formatting option ?!, (i have a "normal" msx2 sony fb700)

my thanks for any hint !

Smile

I guess you're copying the file to it, instead of writing it as a disk image to the disk?

If you are using Windows, try to use DCOPY program...

If the game's RAW data is really bigger than 720KB (737280 bytes) then I've made a program that formats 738KB floppys on MSX tR... Those disks don't work on all MSX-models... it depends of disk drive's physical features... How ever MSX-DOS and different MSX Disk ROM's seem to understand them correctly. (Mail me if you need it, and I'll search it from my archives)

How ever I find this later option EXTREMELY unlikely.

thanks for your returns and hints. i searched the forum, and two names seemed like hope. will try tomorrow Dcopy & Rawrite. the good software would be something that doesnt check the size ! and copy the max it can Wink

Nyyrikki, if as least i cant copy with the tools, i'll msg you Smile

in the past, i used with total success Diskmanager for around 30 different floppies, but there some mystery is there ^^

IIRC they were declared freeware. But the site hosting the games is down.

Here are all 4 games

I guess it should be a shame to loose the freeware games. Can't MRC host the games? Or is that against the freeware policy of M-KAI?

btw. I got the link from this site: http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=54505

Is there some source to be cited that the games are, in fact, freeware?
Unfortunately, we can't host them until this is 100% clear.
