Is the game available somewhere I used to own a copy in the past, but I sold my MSX gear a long while ago.
I also saw a post that the full game sources are available, can I get a copy of those ?

Since you are sending out the disk images to everybody who wants them: have you considered uploading them to the MRC downloads database? Saves you the work of sending them manually and makes it easier for other people to get the game. Since you are (one of) the creators I figured you'd be a good person to ask this question

The Special Edition is the MSX2+/turboR version, AFAIK.
Oh, the manual says this:
The name Tetris II special edition was given because of this
option which allows two players to fight each other. The
purpose of the game is very simple: to get rid of your opponent.
We did not want you to say “oh, how boring” or “I won’t play
against you, as you’re far stronger!” so we tried to find a way
to avoid this.

T2SE CD has already been submitted to msx.org download database, but it was a couple of years ago and I'm afraid it went lost (or at least forgotten 
).
Sending 2 or 3 e-mails is not so invasive and however I like to "get in touch" with people interested in T2SE 
@ Manuel: the name is not related to 2+/tR version.
We could not name it "Tetris Battle Gaiden for MSX" so we thought about a name including the term "tetris"
(Aleksej Pažitnov did not pursue us... till now) but with some "special" differences.
