Yes the game does end abruptly. Won't say spoilers... But in the manual the name of a sequel chapter was indeed named. In the manual there are also names of items you can't get in the game, I think also some spirits, characters and such were named and given backstory to that don't appear (yet) in the game. Items that you can't are also listed in the manual. So some small parts of the second chapter can be inferred. I think somewhere in the manual it was indicated that the game was 4 disks big (instead of the actual 3). Maybe at one time it was thought to make it one bigger game, then it later got split into two pieces like they did with Ys 1 and 2.

Would be cool if a concluding chapter could have been made based of the same engine. But the game is very good as is!!! Very nice graphics, music, humor, etc. Guessing that making a concluding chapter is not gonna be likely.

The game is fully translated, so I expect to release it soon. But before doing it, I think some English texts need to be revised.
