Question about msx cartridges

If i buy a game in japan that has the 'mega rom' logo in it, do i need anything extra to play? do i need a megaram cartridge?

or just the original game?

Just the original game is enough, 'mega rom' is only indicating that the rom that is used in the cartridge is over 64k. Since the game is running from the rom itself, no additional ram is needed.

The MegaRAM cartridge’s name is a wordplay on MegaROM, because it let you play copied MegaROMs on it.
