The Castle and Castle Excellent remakes?

Remakes of the Castle games actually seem like a really good idea, as they do show their age a bit more than other similar games, and could really benefit from the remake treatment. Considering their popularity, it's a bit odd that (to my knowledge) they haven't had anyone do this to them just yet.

That seems less like a remake, and more like a faithful recreation. When I think of modern remakes of MSX classics, I'm thinking more something like this:

The Castle could really use a remake like that, I feel. Even more than The Goonies, which I think holds up a lot better to modern scrutiny than either of the Castle games do (if only because of the music and sound effects, which get VERY grating VERY quickly in the Castle games).

I came across this last year but didn't see your post.
Well some people have done it. It's good however I feel like the movement is much easier than it should. Also the key system is just more like money hunting (similar to mobile games ) otherwise very good
