Please, be cautious when doing business with user luppie (Erik Luppes). We agreed on a trade on an email and just when I was going to pay the game, he decided to sell to game to other person. I don't think it's very healthy for the MSX scene to fool other people just for the sake of greediness (and cause hurted feelings just because of money). I would understand if people don't agree and decides to wait for better offers, but backing of with trading partners is just bad way of doing business (or naiive ignorance) and isn't needed in small fragile scene like ours. So, be warned.

Edit. and one reason for me to do this thread is to show people that every little action has its chain of bigger consequences, even if we are in internet. For this single little action luppie caused bad feelings for me, for himself, for the people here who don't like his actions, and for the people here who don't like my actions. You could just ask yourself when doing these decisions like this to maybe remember all the consequences in wider perspective: "is fooling other people and the responsibility of it's consequences worth the money I'll get?".

You already told me that you gonna post your experience here on MSX.org and i'm fine with that.
Please look up the word fraud in a dictionary and come to the conclusion that I'm not fraudulent.

I don't think this is the place to defend myself on something that you call fraud.

Also you already noticed that I don't comply to any demands if you start threaten me with things as law, lawsuits and posting on public forums. That made me choose not to sell my item to you.

Ok, maybe the word fraud was little too much, but I didn't know it from word to word, because my english is not perfect. My apologies for that.

Law is not law to someone who is living a good and lawful life - law should be part of every day living. And if you'd really feel threatened by the law, then you are unconsciously fear of it and your actions.

How on earth would I have another options to give positive or negative feedback for MSX trades outside Ebay if I don't post my experience of the trade here? In small community people have the right to know if someone is good trading partner or not. Even if this trade was not a big deal and my world won't be shattered with it, I don't like the way trades work in open internet forums or market places and it's pissing me off to go through this kind of stuff just because of people's greed and dishonesty. I hope that this little rant would affect people that it isn't always fun to opposing trading partners if you'd decide to break a deal.

OeiOeiVogeltje: luppie was selling Konami Game collection on Martplaats. I made a few bids, and he closed the Marktplaats ad. Then we wrote on the email and we BOTH agreed on the price and postage. Next day when I was just making my payment, he wrote to me and said that he would sell the game to someone who has made a higher bid. I was just angry that as our deal was already made and closed and it isn't time to listen offers anymore. If he would have said on the mail that you're the highest bidder and even if I close the auction I'm open for other offers, that would have been good. But this kind of way of doing business is just wrong.

Even if this sounds like a small thing, it is about the trust in the scene itself and this is not doing any good for it.

With all due respect but: telling this stuff on open forums has the effect that the other party can also say something. For me, putting both perspectives together does seem to make you less trustworthy. This happens on marktplaats, just live with it. But in this case I'm guessing lupie had a reason for it.

So, going with the common laws of the market and business makes me less trustworthy? And giving a feedback of the trade makes me less trustworthy (how in earth people would otherwise know whom to buy from Marktplaats because that place doesn't have any feedback system)? I guess it's also common in Marktplaats to not send stuff if the other person pays it? This is exactly the same thing, but reversed. What other reason than money luppie did have? I'm just curious to know what I'm missing here.

Luppie just wrote:

That is something different then just money, now is it? I could care less about which one of you is telling the truth. But this is not fraud. Posting stuff here when a deal did not go the way you like it, is not the way to go if you want to buy stuff from others. I will be thinking twice when someone wants to buy my stuff when that person is accusing other sellers for (almost) nothing, with big words he did not think through.

And keeping money from a buyer and not sending the stuff is the reverse of this? What did you lose? O, right. NOTHING! But if someone else looses money when the seller is a fraud is the reverse of this? Come on now, get real.

I get that you're angry for not winning the bid, but let it rest for a couple of days before posting stuff like this.

I would be scared of Luppie... look at those arms and that scary tattoo! His wife/girlfriend might be a secret agent assassin! Maybe someone has kidnapped Luppie's hamster and is demanding some Konami games as ransom! I would go for my own hamster first before sending you the carts. In reality you do not own anything until you did the payment and the seller shipped it. Evil

Please read this post : Post and decide how trustworthy I am.

Thank you Vampier. Lucky for us, our hamster is back with us, after we paid the randsome.
