I have a 8250 converted to 2+ and extra memory you can buy
Dont know how much you want to pay though as it will not be very cheap
lots of computers for sale
what would you be asking for it and are you in the uk?
UK doesn't exist. It was a mythical protoculture at the dawn of the mankind that spawned United States of A and the island of Australia, and also Doctor Who. Some say UK is Atlantis.
A real MSX2+ without box/books/disks from someone like rklok will probably run you about 150 Euros. A converted NMS-8250 probably should run somewhere between 100 and 130 euros, depending on cosmetic condition, quality/completeness of conversion to MSX2+ and how much ram does it have. Bas, to my best knowledge, expands memory from 128K to 256K by sandwiching second layer of chips. Stay away from this kind of mod, since each extra IC consume extra juice and destabilize system. Look for SIMM based upgrade (1MB or more). Those are awesome. Alternatively, just get a real MSX2+, ideally a Panasonic WSX or WX (but not FX, since it lacks FM sound chip). WSX has S-Video output but no cassette interface, WX has cassette input but no S-Video. Since you're a eurobiped, you might want WX if given a choice. In new world, WSX wins with it's sweet sweet ungodly crystal clear S-Video output.
And I do like rabbits.
Is there any info on upgrading an msx2 to msx2+ on the net?
what about an eprom cart and whats this cc cart thingy?
u dont get so much games / software with msx2+ as compared to msx2 .
I realized it when i got my first msx2+ but i understand the attraction
But soon you will want a turboR in that case ....
...
a good msx2 like hb700 that has natively 256kb in good cosmetic state is ideal for me ( i got mine for 60 euros 3yrs ago after having sold mine in 91 , for an equivalent 300 euros i remember )
You can add a SD or CF interface at first and you get most of msx.
After just get turboR or on the extreme limit a panasonic WX/WSX since they are the best msx2+ to me.
to give you an idea of my personal experience :
I have modified myself a vg8235 to msx2+ , then to 7MHz turbo , then i tried to double ram to 256kb = i failed this one and it does not work anymore
Then i got a msx2+ planning to upgrade ram , but i have been lazy and afraid of burning it again, and i had a good price on turboR , so i got turboR.
a msx2 already upgraded to msx2+ is good option but the price is high and justified. (150 euros) u dont bother with 110v .
for msx2+ upgrade google for "hanso msx"
for msx2+ upgrade google for "hanso msx"

Nothing wrong with piggy-bag extensions.

what's the problem DHAU???

I agree. Affordable, easy to implement, and no heat or stability problems, upgrading from 128K to 256K for example. I would not recommend towers of 4 IC's, but two is fine.
I would say it depends WHO didi it , i guess some one who did it zillions times is just fine. ( and way cleaner than my dyi ugly mods )
