up, any similar cartridges ? maybe I can fit the ribbon into the original case and use it so.
The printer is also thermal. You don't need cartridges.
For the paper you can also use this one :

You can use fax paper (in rolls)
I have a FS-4500 that maybe uses the same thermal ink.
chupas, did you find ink cartridge or tested thermal paper?
Thanks
It is not a Thermal printer, but a "Thermal Transfer" printer. That last bit is key. That means it still needs a type of ink ribbon, but it uses heat to transfer the ink from the ribbon to the paper. And it does not use Thermal paper, but regular paper.
Yes, we know, but many thermal printers support two types of printing:
- Direct printing: You need only thermal paper (not good for storing documents for long time)
- Transfer printing: Normal paper and thermal ink cartridge
I'm ordered thermal paper to try if printing head is hot/near enought to print with only thermal paper.
Tested thermal paper, IT WORKS!!!!!!
Using brother A4 thermal paper. You need to adjust printing dial in the left side of your MSX to the max.
How is the quality? Care to share a picture of a printed page?

Great, I wasn't wrong!
