Nop, Bazix is to distribute the One Chip MSX outside the Japanese market, and of course all the documentation that comes with it will be localized to English.

So you are going to distribute it? Sweet Smile. Hope I don’t have to wait too long after the Japanese release though.

I hope it will be released in Japan and Europe at the same time Wink

Keyboard and mouse already work through USB. I don't know if there are any plans to implement Ethernet/Obsonet support.

Bazix is indeed very very very very likely to distribute the One Chip MSX outside Japan, but please don't ask us to do the impossible. Translating manuals and other documentation, actually getting the computers from Japan to Europe, finding the best way to distribute the One Chip MSXes on a market so different than the Japanese... it needs a lot of planning and sorting out, most of which can hopefully be done before production of the One Chip MSX starts, but still... a release at the same time can't be guaranteed at the moment.

4. Manuals. Only in Japanese?Nop, Bazix is to distribute the One Chip MSX outside the Japanese market, and of course all the documentation that comes with it will be localized to English. I hope you do realize real localization means translating it not only to English, but also Dutch, Spanish, Portugese, Italian, German, etc. Wink

It will be great to have all manuals and instructions in spanish Smile. Anyway, if Bazix is going to distribute it, I'll surely get one!. What about a design contest about how we think the casing will be, snout?. Smile

One can be too demanding, you know Wink

As for the casing: The European and Japanese One Chip MSX will be using the same casing. I'm about to go back to the Netherlands soon and will post 3 pictures with potential designs in the photoshoots section. Of course, a design contest would be cool, but we can not guarantee any of the community-designed casings will be used in the end. The casing has to be practical, not too expensive and should not involve too many changes on the One Chip MSX board. If you have any ideas though, feel free to contact Bazix with your design ideas and we will bundle them and send them to ASCII Solutions. One can never tell, still it -would- be a long shot.

Really, the 'step by step'-idea behind the MSX Revival still stands. Just like ASCII, in order to deliver affordable One Chip MSX computers to the European/Brazilian market, we have to be able to sell substantial amounts. In order to take a new step in the MSX revival, the previous step must have been succesful enough in order to make the next possible. This summer, WOOMB.net will be lauched; somewhere at the end of the year, the pre-ordering of the One Chip MSX is likely to start, who knows what is going to happen next...

/me not thinking about that thing will ever happen Smile

Just thinking about a contest when everyone can show his point of view about how the 1cMSX will look like and show it to the community. Never thinking about it can become a reality Smile. Just a cool contest to show creativity Smile. Then, people would vote for his/her favourite homebrew design for the 1cMSX case.

Thanks for moving the post to "Revival" but because the One Chip MSX is going to be launched/real, I put it in "Hardware" Smile
