I have Casio OR-16 which is 16Kb of RAM in page 2.
Even with this cartridge inserted directly on slot 1, it boots with RAM at slot 0 with only 8 Kb...
OR-16 is RAM Cartridge, right?
Most of 16KB Cartridge located on Page 2 (8000-BFFF)
But in this case, MSX machine must be 16KB machine.
If you use 16KB cartridge on PV-7 (8KB), you must expand 8KB RAM with expansion box for PV-7 at first.
If not, PV-7 boot only 8KB only because of C000-DFFF doesn't exist on RAM area.
it is still not clear to me if there are any differences between PV-16 and MX-10. What are the differences??
And what about PV-7? Is it identical to PV-16, but then with only 8kB RAM?
The DIN-5 Cassete interface (CMT) of MX-10 and PV-7 is non-standard.
They need FA-32 CMT I/F package:

The Dock Station for MX-10 is KB-10 ? What is the dock station for PV-7 and PV-16 ?
PV-7 is wider than MX-10
PV-7 : 8KB (29,800 yen)
PV-16 : 16KB (29,800 yen)
MX-10 : 16KB (19.800 yen)
MX-101 : 16KB (19.800 yen) : enable to show the MSX screen on TV without wire
These MSX have only 1 slot.
Same MSX BIOS ROM, RAM on SLOT 0
So, all of these are identical, except:
- only 8kB RAM on PV-7
- PV-16 has a standard cassette interface
- MX-101 has a wireless TV interface
Why is PV-16 10,000 yen more expensive than MX-10? I doubt it's due to the cassette interface...
Casio MX-10 / MX-101 was released in 1986 when MSX2 machine was released.
So the price must be down.
If not, MSX1 machines didn't be sold due to MSX2.
I think I added the correct system configurations to openMSX now. Feel free to review. They are in the latest build on http://openmsx.fixato.net/ or here: http://openmsx.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/openmsx/openmsx/tr... (sorted on most recent changes).
Yesterday I made some research on MX-10 PCB and I couldn't find /SLTSLT2 and /SLTSL3 signals in the MSX-Engine.
So, additional circuitry will be needed to put 64Kb inside him.
I think this Selector 6 is made with a CASIO MSX Board, maye a PV-16 PCB:
Selector 6
MX-10 no have a really MSX engine... HG61H06 is older Hitachi CPLD.
See datasheet of family HG61 here:
http://www.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/pdf/156201/HITACHI/HG61H06.html
On this, very be carefull on mod/hacking MX-10, if you burn HG61H06, you get MX-10 as brick! :o
