Hi all,
I m playing around with a bert interface and I was wondering if it support Okei FAT16 and if there is a Fdisk fat16 for it ?
By the way I guess it's still doesn't support CD , right ?
Hi... fat16 is not supported on the BERT interface, I think it need a newer BIOS. There is support for cdrom. There are some tools like ccopy, cdir , cdd , cdda (where you can play audio cd's). Drive mapping is not supported.
btw. I'm not sure, but i think that Hans has ever said "if someone is making a new cdrom driver for the bert interface i will give a slot expander for free. (for the one who makes it) " but maybe he should confirm this statement
2.7 is the latest bios. But it's a EPRoM i think. so not not a simply flash.
On the info pages if you can scroll down to the SCSI Bert interface. There is a download link called "BERT utils" for cdrom.
I'm not sure but if you want to use a cdrom, be sure the hardisc is always on SCSI ID 0 and the CDROM on a free SCSI ID.
Overhere it's working fine.
I can burn rom , if I find it
Thanks for the CD tools
I now I need to find the last install disc with fdisk3.X as the version I have is 2-1
Thanks again for your help
hello Thewhipmaster
i have sent you a few mails too with some additional info
i hope you get it
there is a different in roms for different version of bert
one "orignal " one that doesnt work in turbor and one adapted for turbor
i have both
but the roms need a hardware modification which is different depending on which serial number your bert interface has
Hans told me that there is some pin that need to be switched in order to allow a MK to use bert a bert rom.
Does anyone of you know which pin need to be swithed ?
My bert is working on a Turbo-R. If i remember it correctly the adres is &H30.
Today i got my hands on a new (yes! NEW!!!) Hardisk! 73 GB Seagate 10k.7 (Cheetah) !!!
It's a ULTRA U320 SCSI drive (small connector) and it's working on the BERT interface!!!
The cool part is the noice!!!! (very silent!!! compair to my old SCSI drive!)
So i'm running a copy job to restore all the data! ... still waiting for a while
