Hi,

Mars recently pointed me to this: http://www.passionmsx.org/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php...

And on http://www.cx5m.net/blog/ I also noticed "MIDISlav 1.4" and "DMS II". grit, can you make those available online somewhere, please?

Non-Yamaha software for the Yamaha CX5M! Is there other non-Yamaha software made for the CX5M? Please let me know!

Also, if you can tell me how to run that DMS ROM file on the CX5M, I'm also interested. It hangs up my emulated CX5M.

As precised : "Soundchip : SFG-01 (not compatible with SFG-05)"

So, you must support first SG-01.

mars: SFG-01 is supported. But the MSX hangs at startup.

The recently provided SFG-01 rom (and reduced to 16 Kb) works correctly in blueMSX (CALLMUSIC launches the built-in software) when inserted in a slot as cartridge, it's the same with the SFG-01 rom in the CX5M-1 file.

I need to check why CALLMUSIC fails with CX5M-1 machine with built-in SFG-01 (? config problem).

Working on this. I worked through some disks with non-Yamaha cx5m software I have but Midislav and DMS are the most useful I found by far. Long time ago I even mailed Carolyn Eng to see if it's ok to share this work - no problems there. I wanted to convert the midislav to be able to run as a cartridge so the CX5M would be a multitimbral synth on startup. I even have the Midislav source somewhere so I could compile it again.
I'll have to dig up a floppy drive for pc though... it's been a while...

mars: the SFG-01 works fine, but the DMS software hangs up.

grit: it would be greatly appreciated to have that stuff available!

i have a copy somewhere (original program was on tape)
but really it's some kind of a basic editor program. not exciting.
anyway, i could also scan the user's manual (50 pages) maybe next week-end.

Hi, first post

My dad has a program on cassette called Bit2 multitimbral that is specially for the SFG-05. He manages to get it loaded but it desperately needs saving to something. He has made a wav recording of it and that sometimes loads but is a bit dodgy. Every cassette player/recorder my dad has now is stereo only and he is worried the fact that it is not mono is the reason he is having trouble. What is the best way of recording the program to something else?
