Many people have bought an GFX9000 and did nothing or little with it. I think that if some developers who created some small code for GFX9000 combine their forces, a simple GFX9000 toolkit which can be used by other developers _MIGHT_ be a result of this co-operation. Doing this, it would enable less advanced developers to access the power of the GFX9000 'easily'. Maybe some games or demo's will follow.

I'm have been working on a BIOS style library with GFX9000 routines. There are quite some (ideas based on the MSX BIOS) routines that already enable to adjust screens, set modes (currently only the same as VDP), do scrolling stuff (multi-layer), copy blocks between RAM and VRAM and that sorta stuff.

What I'm planning to implement is sprite support and V9990 commands. I hope to implement things like the advanced pattern modes (like using SCREEN5 edited tiles to use in a name table structure and the same for sprites. When all this is finished I'd be a good time to find people who are willing to beta-test some stuff before I decide to release it.

I'll keep you guys posted...

You are coding a Library ?
In C / ASM or Turbo pascal or binaries for basic ?
(I prefer pascal on MSX Wink )
I am not sure but I have seen somewhere that a Hitech-C library for v9990 had been released, it might be an early dev. of yours ?

Leo,

If you like Pascal on MSX i would like to invite you to http://www.msxhans.msx2.com
There i collected as much i could find on MSX and Pascal as I could find. Also facilities for inline assembly code in Pascal are there.

I'm working on it in asm. Most likely I'll release a compiled with an example source of how to use it, and it can be pretty easilly used in other languages as well. I prefer asm for OS, drivers and these kind of libraries to be honest so the language used wouldn't really matter.

It is very unlikely it's a early development of mine. There are / were more people working on things for V9990 and never finished it for some reason.
