It is not a big problem since a MSX1 isn't hard to get, and most MSX users probably have one. But may I ask why it only works in a MSX1?

This is a graphical issue. The SVI-728 demo and the game Rock'n bolt have a similar problem. Same with Space Armor (a SG-1000 game converted). I do not know the exact cause.

About Pacman, IIRC Eduardo Mello from Opcode ported this game (and MS Pacman) from the arcade to MSX (and Coleco).

How about updating COL4MMM file, by adding all the latest converted games? Smile I just downloaded it from that topic, but all the converted games aren´t there. Sammy Lightfoot conversion is missing too.

Desolator is a nice game of it´s own, lots of different enemies on lots of different waves.... I loaded it many times during the eighties, I liked it as it had lots of varying action, but I always felt it was an average game no matter how nicely it was done, as there weren´t any humanoids to rescue. To my knowledge, there wasn´t any Defender clones with rescuable things. In Desolator you had to find Energizer before Minkys did that, but that wasn´t the same.

Time Bandits is a very close clone indeed. And a very good shooter with added strategy. Smile Only thing I was really missing was animation on helicopters and biplanes. And maybe a second sprite to make upper part of player´s fighter to have different colour, I am not sure if there were enough sprites left to make that, though. Then it would have been perfect! Smile

From your last list, I can give you just one game. Hyper Rally is the closest thing to Enduro, but I wouldn´t compare them, as even Hyper Rally feels nice at the beginning, it becomes a very dull game after a few plays. The sky and background has a different colour on each stage and there are two tunnel stages and a winter stage with slippery road, but real time sunset, realistic night time driving, driving in the fog and the sunrise are sadly missing. Enduro is an older game and Hyper Rally has sharper graphics and a couple of short tunes and realistic japanese car engine noise, but I would still call Enduro more advanced game. I have always missed a great driving game for MSX like The Great Cross-Country Road Race, made for Atari and Commodore, which has radars, gas stations, the game does not end if you should run out of gas, varying weather, allows to drive around the clock changing the screen colours in real time in the most realistic way to mimic different times of the day and possibility to plan your route from the map. The only MSX game I know, which has the animated sunset, is North Sea Helicopter, but even that game just stops the action to show nice sunset animation, that is understandable though, as it is a vector graphics simulator, just wanted to mention the only game doing a bit similar thing.

I think there is some italian Hyper Rally clone for MSX, which has multicolour Fiat Mirafiori look alike car as a player´s car. Though, I don´t know if it clones Hyper Rally or some better game. I hope somebody knows this game and it´s name.

Just an update, new games that were created / ported (homebrew) that are clones of classic Atari 2600 games.

Adventure --> Quest for the golden chalice (Coleco)
Enduro --> Endurance
Frostbite --> Frostbite (Coleco)
Popeye (ported from Coleco)
Star Wars (coleco, homebrew)

Later I'll check and create an updated list.

If someone knows other games that are missing, please post here.
