I have a Panasonic FS-A1WX MSX2+ with RGB output that I'd want to convert to HDMI signal. How can I achieve this? I've tried two different SCART-to-HDMI upscalers/adapters, but neither one works -- I can only get sounds working. The SCART cable that I'm using with my MSX2+ is working fine when connected to a SCART port, so there's nothing wrong with the SCART cable itself. The main goal here is to be able to use my "Elgato Game Capture HD60 S" capture device to livestream MSX games with real hardware, but this capture device only outputs in HDMI.

Am I using a wrong type of SCART upscaler/adapter, perhaps? Hopefully someone can help. I've been struggling with this for over a month now. Crying

best solution is OSSC: https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-con...
you can buy original OSSC with warranty from England for 135 Euro plus shipping or
try your chances cheaper on eBay or AliExpress -- about 130 dollars includes shipping.
you would need MSX RGB to SCART cable.
Connection is:
MSX computer: ------RGB-to-SCART-cable----- :OSSC:----HDMI-cable------:YOUR-BIG-SCREEN-TV

Someone else was recommending OSSC to me. It's assuring that you also recommend it. It's a bit on the pricey side, but if it works, then I will save up for it. Thanks! I already have the MSX RGB-to-SCART cable and Elgato capture device -- I'm only missing the thing that would convert the RGB/SCART output to HDMI signal. OSSC seems to be the solution for me.

The adapter below works well with many MSXs:

The price is not excessive despite that you have to buy it in Japan.

Which adapters have you tried?

I got these. I use it in combo with a tR, but it works with any Panasonic or MSX in general. My Elgato HD60S likes the output of the converter.
It has a 3.5mm jack output which can easily be converted to an input so you can route audio from a mixer. I did that and disconnected the audio of the scart to avoid MSX noise in the audio.

I got this one and it works - good image quality etc, but it adds some delay, which is unsuitable for games (also it uses regular SCART, not Japanese pinout, which is convenient). So i'd like to have OSSC instead, though

That looks like the same as I have (rebranding one way or the other). Here is a picture of the delay. Right is the MSX, left is through scart splitter, hdmi converter, elgato device:

This delay hardly noticable.

You have flat monitor which also adds a delay when converting analog signal, back in 2015 i connected CRT to MSX and HDMI via splitter with this convertor, and delay was not that small. Not so bad either but when playing fast paced games like Nemesis it still makes a little difference on how it feels with tube and with convertor Smile But generally, this convertor is good for its price (back in 2015 i paid 42 USD for it, it is cheaper a little bit now), and for games such as Vampie Killer you really wouldn't notice a delay

My biggest problem with the cheap Chinese RGB-SCART -> HDMI converters is that they introduced weird deinterlacing artifacts on moving surfaces. This is because these cheap converters were built for 480i (from VCRs) and not for 240p (from game consoles). The OSSC does not have this deinterlacing problem, also has no latency, and provides a superbly sharp image with optional scanlines.

But it comes at a cost, of course. If you just want to have working video and don’t care so much about these things (yet), you could just go for the cheap Chinese one, they’re affordable enough that if you decide to buy an OSSC later you won’t have lost a lot of money (and you can still use it as a spare).

I think this post explains it all. I agree that OSCC is the best option at the moment. I am using the xrgb-mini framemeister, but that device has been discontinued.
If anyone wants to dive into the details, RetroRGB is a great place to start.
But beware... replicating the CRT experience can become a very expensive hobby. :P

This site says it works fine but this site says it doesn't work. It would be nice to know why.
